Fan tributes are a dime-a-dozen, but short of some slicker audio cuts and cleaner video at points, I don’t know that AMC itself could produce as effective a summation of the four-and-a-half seasons of Breaking Bad that have so far aired than what I’m posting below.

This is definitely spoiler territory for those not entirely caught up, as it includes details all the way through the first-leg finale that just aired last weekend. It’s a remarkable summation of Walter White’s story, and for those of us who have gotten wrapped up in his villainy of late and forgotten Walt the chemistry teacher, the selection of early-season moments and general editing do a fantastic job of showing how effectively the show has built a character and twisted him.

Obviously it’s easy to set a batch of clips to dramatic music and have a video, but this took real work, and demonstrates that whoever is behind the “UltraBrawl” account has a good eye for what makes the show and its lead character tick.

While I’m at it, here’s another great Breaking Bad related montage in which an editor pulls together many of the glass-bottomed, fixed camera, and POV shots that pepper the show with its unique style. It’s from the same guy who edited the Kubrick One-Point Perspective video that’s also worth a watch. It’s a little older, so perhaps he’ll update the edit with some of the newer stuff soon…
