Knocked Up opens this Friday, and it’s one of the best and funniest movies you’re going to see this year (I gave it a 10 out of 10 in my review right here). Part of what makes the film work so wonderfully is star Seth Rogen as a schlub who accidentally impregnates a woman way out of his league. I can’t even imagine what this film would have been like without Rogen in the lead, but it came very close to happening. It seems that Arrested Development’s Michael Cera was originally cast in that role, but he ended up getting fired. Some behind the scenes footage of the friction between Cera and director Judd Apatow has surfaced on the web – check it out below.

I guess Apatow decided to give Cera another chance, as he’s starring in Superbad later this summer, which Apatow produced. I really hope Cera learns to control his temper and to work well within the Hollywood system. He’s a talent.

Michael Cera gets fired from Knocked Up

(Yes, I know this is fake. Trust me, I’ve been following Knocked Up since Seth Rogen told me about it two years ago in this exclusive interview. You can stop emailing me with corrections now.)
