I’ll avoid spoiling whatever fun you may have with the odd little twist embedded in this Batman fan film, and simply say that it takes an odd path towards merging two disparate Batman timelines.

Overall the short (which promises “To Be Continued”) is a little demonstration of stop-motion storytelling using Dark Knight toys as actors. There is a Robot Chicken feel to that gimmick of course, but the lighting and photography is pretty excellent, so mixed with the detailed toys there’s an odd kind of photo-realism achieved from shot to shot. Since it’s quick enough not to wear out its welcome and avoids any bad voice acting, it’s well worth the time. There’s even that mesmerizing Willis O’Brien stop-motion effect as each figure is given life by the rippling fabrics and such.

Fun stuff, enjoy!
