Aint It Cool News was directed to an interview with The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner where the actor says that Max Rockatansky is a role he’s trying hard to get:
I’m also fighting to do the new Mad Max film with George Miller. That
might be next summer. I’m screen-testing and meeting George Miller.
Fuck yeah. Renner’s a great actor who has been bubbling just under the surface; The Hurt Locker is a great place for him to strut his stuff, but I think he has the chops necessary to make the big leap and take on a film like a Mad Max reboot (and I’m assuming Mad Max 4: Fury Road has morphed from a next generation tale to a straight up remake).
