Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko, Southland Tales) just tweeted about a website that’s acting as a prequel to his upcoming film The Box.

Head on over to www.youaretheexperiment.com to check it out, but you might not know what the hell you’re looking at. While the film’s based on a Richard Matheson story about a young couple who are offered an insane amount of money to press a button in a box (with the side effect of someone in the world they don’t know dying) these three shorts are all about NASA. It’s all completely dialog-free, and some really clever footage makes everything look like NASA in the 1970s, preparing to land Viking on Mars.

Looks like Langella’s facial deformity might have a bit of an explanation here, as well. Absolutely love the ominous music, and hope that it’s from the film’s soundtrack.

The Box hits theaters next Friday. Don’t forget to check out the very effective trailer if you haven’t!
