Oh I'll whack alright!Earlier in the year, news dropped that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were going to be making a comeback in CG form (as opposed to in giant rubber costumes). The latest happenings? Apparently The Weistein Co. and Warner Bros. will team up to distribute the pizza-lovin’ quartet’s film.

The as-yet untitled flick would be the first time the franchise has seen the light of a film projector since 1993’s awe-inspiring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III which saw our favorite reptilian ninjas travel back in time to 17th Century Japan to defeat their enemies by ABSOLUTELY SUCKING. The laugh’s on me, though… I paid to see that shit!

Weinstein: "Reintroducing the Ninja Turtles in an animated movie will enable the filmmakers to fully realize the adventure and humor of the property." Whatever you say, boss. Also, the film’s going for a PG audience despite adopting the grittier style seen in the original comic book series. It figures.

The film, slated for an early 2007 release, has "animation veteran" Kevin Munroe (two or three little known projects get you that moniker, apparently) both writing and directing with screenplay consultation coming from the comic book’s co-creator Peter Laird.
