One of the best shorts that ran at last year’s Fantastic Fest and this year’s Sundance (the only thing I liked about Dead Snow is that Treevenge ran before it), Treevenge is Jason Eisener’s follow-up to the short Hobo With A Shotgun. You might remember that film winning the Grindhouse fake trailer competition; Hobo With A Shotgun was actually added to Grindhouse prints during release.
Treevenge is the Canadian filmmaker’s follow-up, and it’s a seriously gory Christmas story that makes us look at the holiday through the eyes of its unwitting victims – Christmas trees.
