There’s a plethora of on demand video out there these days. So much so that sometimes it can be hard to wade through it all and find something worth watching. Watch This Now is your guide to instant video on Netflix, Hulu and elsewhere, highlighting the very best stuff that you can watch right now.
Starting today you’ll be able to see Luc Besson and photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s Home for absolutely free via Youtube. The 90 minute film is available in English, French, Spanish and German, and is being offered online in honor of World Environmental Day 2009.
As you might have gathered the film is all about the Earth. Glenn Close narrates the English version that was shot in 54 countries and 120 locations over 217 days (as well as other numbers!) and uses some pretty fantastic aerial photography- make sure to checking out some of the making-of videos for examples.
They are really encouraging participation in this- they want video responses, comments, and for you to jump on their Google Earth page and make pledges, as well as see locations where the film will be screening for free. The film’s also hitting dvd and blu-ray today in a worldwide release, although of course most people will see it through Youtube, I imagine.
