Rian Johnson is a filmmaker you should be interested in. Brick was a revelation of genre mashups, planting a heady noir mystery smack dab in the middle of a high school. The Brother’s Bloom was a little too cute for its own good in parts but still landed as a satisfactory caper. I’m extremely interested to see how Johnson handles science-fiction with his upcoming Looper, a time-travel film he wrote and directed.
Slashfilm has the scoop on the poster and I love the dichotomy going on here. The film’s makeup department has done a kickass job turning Joseph Gordon-Levitt into a young Bruce Willis – supposedly JGL studied long and hard to capture Willis’ mannerisms.
