Second-hand smoke really does kill.  At least when it has hook-handed specters contained within.

In the remake of John Carpenter’s 1980 weather-horror flick The Fog, an angry cloud of billowing mist descends upon a small California island community and attacks good-looking people like Tom Welling (Smallville), Maggie Grace (Lost) and Selma Blair (Hellboy).  This mysterious haze has something to do with a ship crew left for dead off the coast a century earlier, and now they’ve returned to illustrate their displeasure through the shredding of pretty flesh.

If the trailer is any indication, the movie will have a surprising amount of practical effects (at Comic Con, director Rupert Wainwright discussed the irritating limitations of both CGI and trying to create real fog). The movie will hit theaters in time for Halloween.
