A few thoughts went through my head while watching the trailer for The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (and none of them were "I can’t wait for this!"):

1. I think I saw this already — it was called Initial D.

2. This director is attached to the remake of Oldboy? Fuck.

3. Holy crap, that’s Lucas Black, the kid from Sling Blade and American Gothic. But if he’s that much older, that means I am too. Fuck.

Anyway, this third entry in the tenuous vechicular "franchise" introduces a fresh young scofflaw sent to live with his Army uncle in Japan, where he gets into the driver’s seat for some illegal racing and finds himself dealing with yakuza, tricked-out cars, Asian hotties and a hybrid J-Rock/hip-hop soundtrack.
