With previous roles by Annette O’Toole, Margot Kidder, Terence Stamp, Helen Slater, Dean Cain, even Christopher Reeve himself…the Smallville Former Superman Universe Notables action figure set was almost as complete as it could get. Unfortunately, the Marlon Brando, Glenn Ford, Richard Pryor and Lane Smith figures have been discontinued, but there continues to be a surplus of Justin Whalin and Sarah Douglas units.

Now word comes from Michael Ausiello that they’re finally putting out the Teri Hatcher collectible.  Hatcher, a former Lois Lane on Lois and Clark, will be portraying the mother of the current Lois Lane, Erica Durance.  Although Lois’ mother, Ella, is long dead, Hatcher will appear in the role via old videotapes that Lois discovers in the eighth episode of the season, “Abandoned.”

Undeniably, Reeve was the biggest get for the show; and he was vocal about approving its depiction of Superman.  But securing Hatcher, who’s been quite busy being desperate over at ABC the last six years or so, is pretty high on the list.  Back then, I thought Hatcher was a pretty good Lois, as I think Durance is now, considering the demands of keeping the character watchable on a weekly TV series.

Now all we need is the nearly-impossible-to-find Gene Hackman doll with the detachable headpiece and we’re golden.
