I’m going to keep posting stories about The Limits of Control every damn chance I get. Because (a) it’s a fucking new Jim Jarmusch movie! and (b) the cast [Isaach De Bankolé, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Gael Garcia Bernal and John Hurt] is wonderful and (c) Christopher Doyle shot it and (d) there are some wildly great bands on the soundtrack. Any one of those elements would be a good thing, but all together? Damn.

Cinematical premiered this poster earlier today, and while we’ve seen these elements already (they accompanied the trailer debut at Apple) it’s nice to see them pulled together into a one-sheet. I almost never want new movie posters anymore, but this is one I’d think about. It points to a sort of mod sensibility and the way Isaach De Bankolé is pictured with the guitar case vaguely (very vaguely) suggests Mystery Train.

I think I feel a Jarmusch retrospective column series coming on…
