Back in September upon viewing the first trailer for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters I wrote, “There are blind, legless post office workers who could still manage better delivery than what’s on display.” It was also around this time I started hearing rumblings of a pre-finished effects test screening gone horribly awry. But I’ll be damned, this new red band is a vast improvement. At least they’re not taking themselves seriously, which may have something to do with Will Ferrell’s producer credit here. There’s also some decent gore happening that helps cast the disjointed delivery in a better light.
You’ll also find a new poster below the trailer. Is “Classic Tale. New Twist.” really their tagline the studio’s going with? They’re supposed to be selling a horror movie, not a new flavor of Sprite:
