IFC Films sure has been on a high school horror kick. Afterschool is about to hit theaters on Friday (and hits On Demand today!), and in a couple of weeks you’ll be able to see a completely different kind of horror film from them- Deathbell.
Korean filmmaker Yoon Hong-Seung’s debut feature looks like Battle Royale meets Saw with a bit of Ringu thrown in for extra flavor. Check out the trailer for yourself:
Those kills look absolutely ridiculous, but the concept makes more sense than Battle Royale, I suppose. At least it encourages kids to study hard!
The film’s going to hit On Demand on October 14th, just in time for Halloween.
