I understand that a trailer for a movie about young John Lennon wouldn’t have Beatles songs in it, even if the production could get the rights to Beatles songs. This film, Nowhere Boy, takes place before John wrote those iconic tracks. But why the fuck does it have some modern rock song on it that sounds like either Trailer Song #6 or Car Commercial #9? They couldn’t just get a fucking rock ‘n roll song, the sort that John and his mates would have been playing at the time?

As for the movie itself… wait and see. I’ve heard mixed buzz, and Nowhere Boy has failed to nab an American distributor despite opening in the UK on Christmas Day.
