Although Will Arnett’s name has been the one showing up in the trades on a weekly basis, Jason Bateman also doesn’t seem to be smarting after the apparent demise of Arrested Development.

The man who once plotted the ultimate fate of supergroup The Dregs of Humanity finally graduates from third-string duty for Vince Vaughn with Peter Berg’s “guys on a mission” flick The Kingdom. Bateman joins Oscar-winning blind soul singer Jamie Foxx and the sexy tightness of Jennifer Garner for the Michael Mann-produced project, which follows a group of US government agents investigating a bombing in a hostile Middle East country (what Devin calls “a fantasy movie”).

Berg is also developing a remake of the Hong Kong action-drama The Mission and an adaptation of the DC comic The Losers, as well as the warrior breakfast movie Bran Mak Morn.
