Steven Soderbergh’s next film, The Informant! (that exclamation point seems to be new), has a trailer on Apple, and it’s pretty damn funny. In fact, it looks sort of like a Coen Brothers movie, except that only Matt Damon is playing a total dunce.
The film tackles corporate crime, and is based on the true story of a top level guy who blew the whistle on shady dealings at Archer Midland Daniels… and who suffered bi-polar disorder that was only exacerbated by wearing a wire for three years. Soderbergh’s film appears to focus on the erratic behavior that led whistle-blower Mark Whitacre down a path that… well, I don’t want to spoil it for you, but Wikipedia has some surprising facts.
