THE FIRST PUBLICITY STILL IS OUT THERE

I just hope you’re not expecting a continuation of the show’s alien colonization narrative.  According to Carter, "We spent a lot of time on [the mythology] and wrapped up a lot of threads. We want a stand-alone movie, not a mythology conspiracy one."

This is probably for the best. Even though I stuck with the show through the final season, I’d have to go back and re-watch episodes if they were going to pick up where they left off.  That’d be a chore.  And it would be a quick turn-off for newcomers.  Just getting to spend another couple of hours with Mulder and Scully (with a screenplay by Carter and Frank Spotnitz) is good enough for me.
