Will Ferrell is set to star in the indie Everything Must Go for commercial director Dan Rush.  Rush wrote the script, based on a Raymond Carver short story.
Ferrell will play a guy who loses his job and gets locked out of the
house by his wife. She deposits his belongings on the front lawn, and
he spends the next four days trying to sell his possessions.  Marty
Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will produce through their Temple Hill Prods.

  Rush’s script was on the Black List, Hollywood’s premiere list of unproduced scripts, which is how Ferrell came to be aware of it.  Ferrell was most recently seen in Land of the Lost and has Oobermind and The Other Guys upcoming.

Joshua Leonard (Humpday) will be directing and starring in the indie, The LieProject is based on a T.C. Boyle short story that ran in the New Yorker last year, about a man who tells a lie to get out of work and inadvertently changes his life.  Script was adapted by Leonard, and his co-stars Jess Weixler (Teeth) and Mark Webber (Broken Flowers), with additional story by Jeff Feuerzeig.  Cast includes Jane Adams, with whom Leonard has co-starred in HBO series Hung, as well as Kelli Garner, P.J. Ransone, Gerry Bednob and Kirk Baltz.  Leonard broke out ten years ago in The Blair Witch Project and later directed the documentary Beautiful Losers.  Filming is set to begin this month in LA.

The romantic comedy, From Prada to Nada is finalizing its cast.  Project is a contemporary Latino version of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility and stars Adriana Barraza, Camilla Belle, Alexa Vega, Wilmer Valderrama and Kuno Becker.  Helmer Fina Torres previously directed Woman On Top and co-wrote the script with Luis Alfaro (Chicanismo).  Project follows two spoiled sisters who are left penniless after the sudden
death of their father and are forced to move in with their estranged
aunt in East Los Angeles.

On the TV front, Taylor Swift is set to host Saturday Night Live on November 7th.  The inevitable Kanye West situation will come up, and Swift doesn’t plan to duck it.  “I’ve been thinking about skit ideas for a long time,” the 19-year-old
Swift said. “There are definitely some hilarious things that have
happened to me over the past couple of months that I think will be
pretty substantial skits.” 
She also mentioned that she’d like to collaborate with Andy Samberg on a digital short ala Justin Timberlake.  Swift will also perform on Dancing With The Stars on Oct. 27th.

Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries) has signed on to star in the gothic fairy tale indie, Cradlewood.  Pic centers on an Australian woman living in Boston with the
heir (Somerhalder) to an incredible fortune whose family history is
swirled in a legend that tells of a pact made with a demon which
ensures that whenever a boy is born into the family, the father is
killed. 
The heir suspects his girlfriend is pregnant, and after strange
events occur, he comes to believe he will die if he continues to
fall in love. 
Emma Lung (The Boys Are Back) will play the Australian
woman.
  Harry Weinmann (Succubus: The Motion Picture) is directing and came up with the original story.  Stephen Sewell
(The Boys) and John Paul Chapple (Bathroy) scripted.  Somerhalder will shoot the pic in Melbourne in April during his hiatus.  More info from Devin.

Paige Turco (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, III) and Barry Bostwick are set to star in The Mountain, a TV movie and potential backdoor pilot for NBC.  Story centers on Dana (Turco) a single mom with three kids
who inherits a remote mountain cabin from a supposedly dead uncle.
But when she heads off to the cabin, she discovers that her Uncle
Henry (Bostwick) is very much alive, and they set out to keep an
evil buyer from gaining access to the mountain that holds secrets
and treasures.  Also cast in the pilot, directed by Doug Barr, is Crawford Wilson
as one of Dana’s kids.
  Turco recently co-starred in the canceled Big Shots and had a recurring role on Damages.  Bostwick’s most recent gigs were guest spots on Nip/Tuck and Ghost Whisperer, as well as the role of Mr. Bradley on Hannah Montana: The Movie.  Project begins shooting next week in Montreal.
