http://chud.com/nextraimages/AssassinationOfJesseJamesMoviePoster.jpgAs a fan of
Westerns, I’m pleased as punch to see a bigscreen resurgence this year. 3:10
to Yuma
has good buzz and great pedigree, and hot on its September
heels comes The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,
which now has a brand spanking new trailer that improves 100 percent on the
first glimpse at this film.

While the first was
more of a vague teaser, this new trailer has a great deal of dialogue between
the titular characters, well-played by Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck (creepier
than I’ve ever seen him), and it really goes far in establishing the elegiac tone
that looks to make this special. There’s a number of gorgeous widescreen shots
that promise to deliver a visually poetic film. I’m not sure if the music is the actual Nick Cave/Warren Ellis score or if it’s more generic Thomas Newman-ish stuff. Either way, me likey.
