Death will not hamper the collaboration between Steven Spielberg and Michael Crichton; together the two worked on Jurassic Park, ER and Twister. Now they’re going to work together on a pirate movie, despite Crichton kicking the bucket last year.

The movie will be based on a novel found in Crichton’s files, called Pirate Latitudes (can you imagine the idea that some asshole will go through your computer after you die and publish whatever he wants? And if the garbage Crichton published was what he wanted seen, how bad will the stuff he filed away be?), and it will be written by David Koepp, who adapted Jurassic Park. Dreamworks, who will be producing, describes Pirate Latitudes as “a daring plan to infiltrate Port Royal, one of the world’s richest and
most notorious cities, and raid a Spanish galleon filled with treasure.”

No word yet on whether Spielberg plans to direct this or just produce it.
