http://chud.com/nextraimages/finaldestinationkill.jpgOn Thursday when that turducken is being passed around your dinner table, take a quiet moment to thank Tony Todd for a truly great announcement from Hollywood: David R Ellis is returning to the Final Destination series.

You’ll recall that Ellis was the man behind Final Destination 2, not only the best film in the franchise, but one of my flat out favorite horror movies in years. He followed that up with Cellular and most tragically Snakes on a Plane, but I think coming back for Final Destination 4 is just what Ellis’ career needs – and just what the series needs!

Final Destination 4 will be shot in 3D, and the script comes from FD2 co-writer Eric Bress. The movie is seen as a stand-alone entry, but really how much serious continuity was in these pictures in the first place? All I care about is that Final Destination 4 meets and exceeds the level of inventiveness and awesomeness of the kills in FD2 – and the fact that it will be in my face in three dimensions is just icing on the cake.

The film has no start date; I don’t even know if the script was finished before the strike hit. I hope that this sucker gets made, though. I can’t wait.
