http://chud.com/nextraimages/weiszgard1.jpgRachel Weisz likes to work with some of the most talented filmmakers in the business (and Stephen Sommers). Last year she starred in a Fernando Meirelles’ The Constant Gardener, and in just over a month you’ll be able to see her in Darren Aronofsky’s The Fountain. She just wrapped on My Blueberry Nights, the next film from Wong Kar-Wai. And now she’s signed on to star in the new film from Rian Johnson, who may be the most exciting young filmmaker working today.

Johnson’s new movie is The Brothers Bloom, about sibling con men. One wants to get out of the business but is convinced to get involved in the infamous “one last job.” You can read what Johnson has to say about the film here, in my exclusive interview with him for the DVD release of Brick.

The Brothers Bloom starts filming early next year, and I get the feeling this is only the beginning of the very cool casting that will be announced. Brick was an incredible film – doubly so because it was Johnson’s first – and it’s gotten him a lot of attention. I’m excited to see what he comes up with.
