I go on a lot of set visits, and I love it. But when you write for CHUD.com it’s likely that you get the invite to the set of a new action movie or scifi film, and not the new Scorsese film. And damn, what I wouldn’t give to see that guy at work just once.

But I should just be grateful that he’s still at work, and that he has a new movie coming soon. That film is Shutter Island, and Rope of Silicon got a scan of a Cahiers du Cinema (they get to go to the set! What has that magazine ever done for movies, anyway?) ad for the film. This is likely not any sort of final art, but it’s exciting to see the marketing machine turn on for this one.

If that said “Whatever happened to Patient 69?” (which I at first thought it did), this could be the artwork for Slutter Island!

Shutter Island is based on the 2003 Dennis Lehane novel. According to Wikipedia:

In 1954, two U.S. marshals investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane on an island in Massachusetts. They run into trouble when they are deceived by others, a hurricane hits and when an inmate riot traps them on the island.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo play the marshalls. The film opens October 2.
