Ryan Reynolds gets his superhero franchise, finally. After efforts to be The Flash and possibly still being attached to a Deadpool movie, Reynolds has decided to wear the ring of Green Lantern.
Just yesterday we told you that Justin Timberlake was doing screen tests for the part, and it’s hard not to wonder if that leaked in an effort to gauge the internet’s reaction to the idea of the pop star making giant green boxing gloves. I guess the response wasn’t positive enough.
So it’s Reynolds. A fine enough choice, I suppose. Not my first choice for a character who is an authority figure at heart – Reynolds is best when being irreverent – but the guy has more than enough chops, he’s not too young and he’s an actual geek, which is nice.
