Universal Studios is looking to bring a
little 3D gore and cult horror magic to their park for Halloween this
year, and they’ve hired Rob Zombie to make it happen. As part of their
“Halloween Horror Nights,” Universal and Zombie will be setting up a House of a 1000 Corpses
attraction, “Captain Spaulding’s Museum of Monsters and Madmen” which
will include a 3D presentation. Mazes and park-wide scares will also be a
part of the event.

I’m
particularly interested in the short film competition the partnership
is setting up that allows filmmakers of horror shorts to submit for a
chance to win prizes and a showing on Chiller. You can find that info here. The shorts have to be between 90 seconds and 3 minutes, so a lot of fun could be had putting something together.

As for the rest, it’s all contained in this big ole press release.
