I’m so excited for the conversations surrounding Drive once it’s out there for all to see. It’s a great film and great discussion awaits, but until then those that haven’t had the chance to see it will have to trust me when I say that Carey Mulligan is a very important piece of the puzzle, and the news that she’ll be re-teaming with Refn to lead a film he’s wanted to make for years is extremely exciting.

On a more shallow level, it’s also fun to find out that the film Mulligan may lead is a thriller called I Walk With The Dead that takes place in Miami and that according to Refn “is just going to have a lot of sex in it.”

Beyond the promise of a “lots of sex” (he said that twice), it’s also cool to hear the film is set in Miami, a city that seems perfectly ripe to be captured with Refn’s unique sensibilities and eye for a location’s unique texture.

Keep in mind that Mulligan has to first sign on to the project, and that Refn will next be shooting his western set in Thailand called Only God Forgives (synopsis below). He’s also still vaguely wrapped up in WB’s Logan’s Run remake, which could fit into his schedule as soon as the script is agreed upon.
