Just got a heads up that Michele Gondry (Eternal Sunshine, The Science of Sleep) will be in the fair city of Manhattan next Friday, January 11th to promote his new movie Be Kind Rewind.

If you’ve missed our articles on it before (Devin’s or Jeremy’s), Be Kind Rewind stars Jack Black and Mos Def as a couple of guys who own a video store. After a horrible magnetism accident renders all their tapes blank, instead of upgrading to DVD like anyone else they decide to reshoot the films themselves on the cheap, doing everything from Ghostbusters to Boyz n the Hood. The trailer’s up on Apple’s website right here, make sure and check it out as it looks absolutely hysterical.

And speaking of Apple, if you’ve tech minded you might especially like this event, as he’s going to appearing at the Apple Store (the one in Soho, 103 Prince Street) to talk about making the film on Final Cut Pro and his trusty Mac.

There’s no admission to attend, but if you want to get in you might want to show up early… you know how those Mac people are.
