Is that not the best 80s horror movie poster you’ve ever seen? The art, the font for the logo- even the fucking tag line is perfect! Yes, Ti West’s House of the Devil is definitely seeking to warm horror fan’s hearts.
I’m not completely in love with the movie but they’ve definitely managed to hit all the notes perfectly and make the film really feel like it was shot 20 years ago. It’s something many people try to do but few achieve, and for him to make a compelling film out of what’s been done to death time and time again (it’s a riff on the old “babysitter in a scary house” plot) is pretty remarkable.
House of the Devil premieres on Amazon, Xbox Live and VOD on October 1st, and in theaters October 30th.
