I know a lot of you reading this group up on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon and movies. I didn’t. As an old man, though, I used to read the much more adult (seriously. It even crossed over with Cerebrus) black and white comic. So many of the original comic concepts remained untouched – including the awesome dinosaur aliens the Triceratons – and Peter Laird, co-creator of the Turtles and, I’m assuming, producer of the new movie reboot, says that he’d like to include some of them.

“Simply telling the story of what happened in the first issue of the
‘TMNT’ comic book would be a pretty short movie, so I suspect other
things from the Turtles’ history in the comics might be brought into
it,” continued Laird. “I would not be unhappy to somehow see the tale
of Baxter Stockman and the robotic ‘mousers’ folded into this movie, as
well as some elements possibly setting up the TCRI connection for a
possible sixth (or seventh) movie. But I think I’m getting a little
ahead of myself there.”

I would be psyched to see the mousers in a Turtles movie – they’re cool looking, they’re highly destructible in a PG movie setting and they’re not fucking Shredder again.
