It’s highly unlikely that I would naturally come around to reading the Hunger Games series before its theatrical motion picture release date, and at this point I’ll likely decidedly avoid it. I may as well be a voice that can comment on the film purely as a film. That said, it’s going to leave me in the dark as the studio continues to promote the film directly at the established fans with minimal teasers that rely on the novel’s context, and these new posters that capture the emblems for the different districts in the book. Thankfully, I managed to avoid a ” New District 9 poster!” headline (don’t count on such restraint from my tweet).

Because I have undiagnosed OCD tendencies, of course I arranged these posters in numeric order. Enjoy it.

Oh, and if you’re wondering why there’s only five posters and for randomly scattered districts, it’s because they’re being unlocked by fans creating profiles or tweeting or something under each district’s logo from The Capital viral site. Apparently districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, and 11 are bullshit asshole districts that suck. I guess. What I’m taking away from all this is that these five districts are like the Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw where all the cool students get to be smart or brave or successful and do all the fuckin’, while the rest of the districts are the boring, mostly useless hufflepuffs of Hunger Games. That doesn’t hold up if this isn’t a popularity contest, but that’s what I’ve taken from it at a cursory glance. Gonna stick with it.
