Flying out of Sitges, Duncan Jones shows off his awards over airport breakfast.

Duncan Jones’ excellent scifi film Moon won big at the Sitges Film Festival of Catalonia, taking home best film, best actor (Sam Rockwell), best art direction and best screenplay. Sitges is Europe’s biggest scifi and fantasy film fest, and one of the festivals I am dying to finally attend (sponsor me!).

Other big winners at Sitges included Splice for best FX (and the long-delayed film premiered to positive buzz, which is a relief), Zombieland, which got the audience award and Martyrs, which won best European film.

As for Moon, it isn’t staying in Spain – it’s coming right home to you. Eventually. British Chewers will get the DVD and Blu-Ray in November, while us Yanks have to wait until January. The British DVD/BR details have arrived at the ManMadeMovies blog; I’m hoping that these features carry over to the US release (you never know)
