It’s one part promo, one part disco party, and one part Carnivale-intro-ripoff. Welcome to the new Assassin’s Creed 2 trailer:
That man is really good at killing people. In addition to lots of new weapons and a glut of assassination cutscenes, the new trailer shows off more of Leonardo’s flying device, a countryside carriage chase, and lots of ledge jumping. So far, it looks like fans of the insufferably repetitive (but pretty!) original game will be pleased with the sequel, which features new assassin Ezio raiding Renaissance Italy in a quest for vengeance. Ubisoft’s sequel will pack a little more visual punch than its predecessor, as it’s borrowing a few tools from Far Cry 2, ratcheting up the draw distance, and including a dynamic day/night cycle.
Assassin’s Creed 2 will be bringing back the dumb future plot with the bartender descendant, so plan on enjoying that, too. It hits North American shores on November 17th, and arrives in Europe on the 20th.
