The first game to ever bear American McGee’s name (and still the best, although Scrapland had its moments), Alice was a creepy, dark vision of the classic Alice in Wonderland story. A fun third person platformer with a wicked sense of style and some amazing graphics, courtesy of the mind-blowing id Tech 3 engine (from Quake III Arena). Ten years later, the sequel is almost upon us, and the series finally makes it way to consoles.

Alice: Madness Returns will take place eleven years after the events of the first game, and Alice has finally been released from her insane Asylum into the care of a psychiatrist in London. But the death of her parents continues to haunt her and she dives back into her mind and the relative safety (?) of Wonderland. Course, things have gone wrong there once again and she starts picking up various bladed implements to make them right. Gotta love the look of those card soldiers.

Below are the first two teaser trailers- the second one having just been released at the Tokyo Game Show.

Check the official site for more info and lots of images and concept art. Alice: Madness hits PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 late in 2011.
