A full five years since he directed In the Land of Women, writer/director Jon Kasdan (who also has a writing credit for Freaks & Geeks) is back with The First Time – a cutesy looking movie about two high-schoolers flirting with losing their virginity to each other. The plot seems fairly straightforward and predictable, but there’s enough quirk and charm to hold my interest here. The Virginity Hit… I mean American Pie… I mean… Project X… Meatballs… Under Siege 2: Dark Territory… I mean… The First Time… was a hit at Sundance and will be enjoying a wider rollout in the coming months:
