Recently Robert Downey Jr bolted from his wizard duties on Sam Raimi’s Oz: The Great and Powerful, replaced by the busiest man in Hollywood, James Franco (his workload is made all the more impressive when you consider how much weed the guy smokes). Well, looks like another actor has jumped ship. Only this time they’re jumping onto Oz. Vulture is reporting that Mila Kunis has bailed on the Hughes Brothers live-action adaptation of Akira (apparently leaving because of the general uncertainty of the project at this point), and will instead be lending her elfin sultriness to the role Theodorah (Witch of the West), who is convinced to turn evil by her older sister, Evanorah (Witch of the East), after Theodorah’s sexual advances are rebuffed by the wizard.

Franco had not officially signed onto Oz yet (and oddly enough is also rumored to be in Akira; of course he is), but after meeting with Raimi and discussing Kunis’ involvement, his interests have been confirmed (I don’t blame him. You could probably talk me into joining the Clan if you said Kunis would be there). Franco and Kunis have already established that they have good comedic chemistry, ably making their way through last year’s “comedic” romp Date Night. More importantly, during the big writer’s strike, they did this…
