Does Tales of an Ancient Empire, Albert Pyun’s follow-up to the classic (and out of print on DVD!) fantasy movie The Sword and the Sorcerer, take place 60 years after the original? Judging by the face of Kevin Sorbo, playing the son of Lee Horsley’s character, yes.

Pyun has finished the film and is editing it right now, and he’s shared the first clip on Vimeo. It’s not the most scintillating choice he could have made – it’s basically Kevin Sorbo’s character meeting his half-sister, trying to bed her and then agreeing to go on a quest with her – but it’s a clip from the fucking sequel to The Sword and the Sorcerer!

I’m psyched to see the film – rumor has reached these ears that it’s full of utterly insane cameos – and I hope it keeps the same gonzo exploitation vibe the original had, as opposed to a more sedate, Xena goes direct to DVD vibe that too many low budget genre films have.

Props to Twitch for finding the below video.
