Those early Spring Breakers set pics had me dismissing it as a teeny bopper romp set to the soundtrack of the latest Flo Rida or Rhianna crapsicle. Not so, as Harmony Korine’s (surprisingly a dude, and writer of the terrifying Kids) new film suggests a colorfully nightmarish romp through Florida’s seedy underbelly. After Stoker, Spring Breakers is easily my most anticipated film hitting in these next few months. This opens March 22nd, synopsis below the equally excellent new trailer and poster:
A serendipitous encounter with rapper “Alien” (James Franco) promises to provide the girls with all the thrill and excitement they could hope for. With the encouragement of their new friend, it soon becomes unclear how far the girls are willing to go to experience a spring break they will never forget.
