Not really news, ’cause I’m pretty sure I would have heard something about it. But apparently it’s been a well-trended topic that Jackie Chan had recently died. Erroneously trended that he had died as it turns out. THR brings word from JC himself on his Facebook page that he is very much not deceased:
Jackie is alive and well. He did not suffer a heart attack and die, as was reported on many social networking sites and in online news reports. Jackie is fine and is busy preparing for the filming of his next movie.
Reports such as this tend to pop up every once in a while. Just last year I nearly shit out my heart when Jeff Goldblum “died”. Chan’s death had been a trending topic on Twitter as RIP Jackie Chan yesterday. Apparently, the hoax was started out of Australia by a fake site made to look like a Yahoo page or something. As I was Down Under on a family vacay last week, I can report that I didn’t see anything nefarious while I was there.
So you can relax. There’s still every possibility that Rush Hour 4 can still happen.
