So it’s about time Jose Padilha’s Robocop film get shooting, but I’m still not going to definitely say this is Robocop until there is some other kind of confirmation.

It comes down to this- this could be a camera test with an unpainted, test version of the suit, it could be prepping for a scene in the film that involves a prototype, or it could be any and all manner of things that aren’t the final, end-all Robocop design. This isn’t an on-set photo, so it’s definitely not the camera-ready version. Regardless, it’s definitely Joel Kinnaman in a suit, so it’s a thing.

That said, I would imagine the helmet is a good indication of what we’re getting, and the military/Batman-style plating is probably involved (and one I’ve definitely been betting on). Personally –and I’m not likely to be the most passionate on the subject– I’d be most upset with a completely ditching of the steel-covered aesthetic. Fuck a black suit. This is not a leak they were likely hoping for, so maybe it will force out some kind of promo image a little faster and we’ll get a definite look.

Thoughts?

Obviously these all come from Coming Soon.
