It has been almost two years since reports first surfaced that David R Ellis (Final Destination 2, Snakes on a Plane) was going to helm a geniusly loony horror film called Humpty Dumpty, about a pair of backwoods swamp rednecks who find a female alien and proceed to rape the shit out of her (naturally; what do those slutty aliens expect, dressin’ like that?). The alien then escapes and dies giving birth to a freaky egg-lookin’ motherfucker, hellbent on vengeance. Frankly, just that E.T. meets I Spit On Your Grave set-up is madness. Then toss in the mutant egg monster? How anyone could not get excited about this film, I do not know.

But then things got quiet on the project, and Ellis moved onto his untitled 3-D shark thriller (due out this fall).

Well, fear not! Now ShockTilYouDrop is reporting that things are back in motion! The film is now being called Humpty Dumpty 3-D (of course). FX artist Harvey Lowry has hopped on the train to executive produce; he produced the Night of the Demons remake, and the upcoming dubious parody film, Paranormal Whacktivity. And Ellis is apparently still attached to direct (though not confirmed).

Check out the film’s website, which has a pretty intriguing array of teases. Including this make-shift trailer assembled with artwork from an accompanying graphic novel…

Most interesting I think are the production design sketches for the various sets, like these…
