You should be excited that there’s a new Hayao Miyazaki movie coming this year; even his lesser movies are some of the best animation you’ll see. And Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (or perhaps just Ponyo, as it may be called in the States) is by many accounts not one of his lesser efforts.
Disney has announced [via AWN News] that the film will unspool in the US on August 14th. There will be an English dubbed version and, if past practice is any indication, some subtitled prints as well, depending upon your market.
There’s no English trailer yet, but we’ll carry it as soon as Disney sees fit to drop something on us.
