With Watchmen
opening as the first Rilly Big Movie of the year, so come the ads for more ’09 material.
This week sees a glut of them, but I was blindsided and wholly
entertained by this ad for the new movie by Todd (Old School) Phillips. The story of three friends (Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper) looking for their lost buddy in Vegas may hit a lot of perfectly absurd notes, if this clip is any indication.
It’s probably moot, because I’ll see the movie for free, but I would totally pay ten bucks to see Zach Galifianakis get punched in the face by Mike Tyson. But I don’t have to, and neither do you, because it’s right there in the trailer for The Hangover. Galifianakis isn’t the most talented comic working today, but he is one of the most interesting, and I’m ready for this movie based on his presence alone.
