Screen Daily is reporting that the visual FX of World War Z will be handled by Cinesite.

They’re currently on a roll, having just worked on X-Men: First Class, Battle: Los Angeles and the upcoming John Carter of Mars adaptation.

“We’re very excited to have been awarded such a significant portion of visual effects for this highly anticipated movie. With our work on Battle: Los Angeles and Generation Kill, we’ve proven our ability to create scenes of epic destruction and realistic character animation. We can’t wait to do it again for World War Z,” says Antony Hunt, managing director.

Yonkers, folks. Yonkers.

You can see some of Cinesite’s work on their official site, as well as possibly get a job working on World War Z.

As we’ve said reported before the film will be directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace, Monster’s Ball) and the cast has shaped up nicely, with Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos and James Badge Dale all set and Matthew Fox and Ed Harris likely signed on as well. It’s supposed to start shooting fairly soon, so hopefully we’ll have more on this shortly.
