Judy Greer, Beau Bridges, Matthew Lillard and Robert Forster have joined the cast of Alexander Payne’s The Descendants.  They join the previously-cast George Clooney, Shailene Woodley, Mary Birdsong, Nick Krause
and Amara Miller.  Based on the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings, the film stars George
Clooney as an indifferent husband and father of two girls, who is
forced to re-establish his relationship with his daughters after
his wife suffers a boating accident off of Waikiki.
Along with the writing team of Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, Payne wrote
the screen adaptation, which is being produced by Ad Hominem’s
Payne, Jim Burke and Jim Taylor for release by Fox
Searchlight.

Greer in particular is having a busy 2010, with several projects upcoming this year including, Marmaduke, Barry Munday, Peep World and Love and Other Drugs.  Bridges is never not working and has Don’t Fade Away and Columbus Circle upcoming, while Lillard (whom I almost didn’t recognize from his source article picture) will next be seen in Shrinking Charlotte.  Forster has Kalamity, The Trial and Fire Bay in the works.
