Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions (via DarkHorizons.com) just released five new character one-sheets for the upcoming Terminator: Genisys.

Spoiler alert: The fifth one-sheet counts as a massive spoiler for one of the major characters. I’ll also describe that character’s origin a little. In case you don’t wanna experience that don’t scroll below Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.

First has Arnold as the enigmatic T-800. Surprisingly, they didn’t go with Sarah’s nickname for him, Pops, nor did they go with The Guardian which was Arnold’s role in the script. He’s at the Griffith Observatory and probably shooting his younger self from the 1984 version. Which means punks Bill Paxton and Brian Thompson are nearby. “Nice night for a walk, eh?”

Second one has Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor at the Golden Gate Bridge. There are two obvious things to notice here and I’m not talking breasts. First, she’s again carrying a T-800 head just like in the early teaser one-sheet. Does it mean that is happening in the movie? Will she get to carry a Terminator head like a trophy? And yeah, of course, breasts. Subtle Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines reference?

Third one has the great Lee Byung-hun as the T-1000, lurking in the sewers. Seemingly out to impale Splinter. Why isn’t it Robert Patrick? That is a good question. One might think it’s because in Terminator 2: Judgment Day the T-1000 imitated the 90ies cop but that’s not true. The Patrick T-1000 already looked like that when he arrived in the alleyway. Even though Patrick’s model was described as a prototype, this might be a whole different T-1000.

Next is said Jai Courtney as said Kyle Reese. Father of the savior of mankind. I for one got no problem with the man. He was the only good one in A Good Day to Die Hard, not even Meryl Streep could have saved I, Frankenstein, and he did a good job on Jack Reacher. He might not have the intensity of young Michael Biehn down but he will do a solid job in this one.

Last one is Jason Clarke (no relation to Emilia Clarke) as the infected John Connor. Early on, Connor gets taken over by an advanced Terminator model that consists of nanomites. It bonds with Connor’s flesh and thus he becomes a new entity, the T-3000. The infection of organic material is the logical next step after the T-X already infected vehicles in T3. It also builds on an unused idea of Terminator: Salvation which had John Connor actually dying and Marcus getting a face transplant of John, making a re-programmed Terminator the secret leader of mankind. This time Connor actually becomes a Terminator, but he’s certainly not pro-mankind.
