MTV has an exclusive five-minute clip from Batman: Gotham Knight, the anthology animation feature that bridges Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. This is from Futoshi Higashide’s piece, called Crossfire, written by Greg Rucka. This seems to be one of the shorts less mired in the fantastic, though that bit of Batman standing in the middle of an urban hell is pretty out there, and his punches seem to hit with amazing force. That extra year or so in the field really paid off. Oddly, however, I don’t much like Kevin Conroy’s performance as Bats here; maybe it’s just me, but here he sounds a lot more…average…than in his many other years of voicing animated versions of the character. Perhaps that’s just meant to be youth.
