I love Facebook articles, cheesy titles write themselves.

Since the beginning of the film’s development, Devin has been behind the potential quality of Facebook film. It’s been my theory that with the right casting, the film can capitalize on the website’s cultural presence to be absolutely massive. We’re still right.

Variety is reporting that Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, and Andrew Garfield have been cast in The Social Network, meaning the only thing between this movie and serious coin is that awful, shitty title. Seriously, get that thing the fuck out of here.

Eisenberg, who appeared in the under-performing but well-liked Adventureland earlier this year and has Zombieland coming soon, will be playing CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Eisenberg is an up-and-coming presence that has the potential to capitalize on the Michael Cera akwardly-charming-witty-white-boy market. Making a film with David Fincher certainly isn’t going to hurt his pedigree.

The role of Facebook and Napster co-founder Sean Parker, will be filled by Justin Timberlake, which should only enhance the appeal of the film to the stereotypical teenage girl Facebook set. Timberlake is a performer who has a place in movies, but hasn’t found it yet. Is it just a matter of the right role, or a few more years on his face? Either way, Timberlake is consistently watchable and certainly right for this kind of character. If these guys are as big a batch of douches as it is thought, then this could be a fun role for him.

Finally there is Andrew Garfield, who will be the other key Facebook conspirator, Eduardo Saverin. Garfield has popped up here and there (Lions For Lambs, The Other Boleyn Girl) and has a part in the upcoming Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, but this will likely be his greatest bit of exposure yet.

I’m more excited than logic will allow for this movie, and at this point I say fuck it… let’s get the Coens on a Twitter flick.
