I never watched Dawson’s Creek, so I wasn’t familiar with Kerr Smith at all before seeing My Bloody Valentine 3D. He won me over pretty quickly because his character, Sheriff Axel Palmer, is kind of an asshole. He was at the site of the Harry Worden mine massacre, and barely survived the night. He was sort of a high school lunkhead at the time, and he grew up to be one of the town’s most important guys… but still having that lunkhead streak and fighting it. Although who can blame the dude for cheating on his wife (Jaime King) with the cute young girl at the grocery store (the adorable Meagan Boone)?
The night before the junket was the premiere party. I was there to the bitter end and Smith was one of the few celebs still at the bar as the place closed down. I can’t even imagine how he got up to do these interviews. The definition of a trouper.
